Developed in the light.

We met on a switchback above Maroon Bells — Olivia heading down with a camera full of morning light, James heading up with one frame left on his roll. He asked her to take it. It's still the best photograph either of us owns.
Seven years of rolls later, these mountains keep developing on our kitchen wall — prints taped above the stove, the proposal shot on the same ridge at the same hour. Now we'll make the picture we've been composing all along, with all of you in it.

“Every love story is a contact sheet. This is the frame we chose to print.”
