We are getting married

OliviaJames

In Brief

We kept what mattered.

We met in a white-walled gallery in Hudson, both standing too long in front of the same small painting. Olivia said one true thing about it. James had nothing to add. We went for coffee instead.

Six years later our life is small on purpose: a farmhouse near Germantown, white rooms, a long table we sanded ourselves. James proposed at that table, over breakfast, without a speech. We'll marry the same way — plainly, with you there.

One table, one afternoon, and everyone we love. Nothing else made the list.

The day

One table. One very good night.

  1. Ceremony

Alder House · The White Room

Vows in a bare white room, one window of afternoon light. Please be seated by 3:45.

  2. Aperitifs

    The North Porch

Local wine, still water, and quiet on the porch while the light goes long.

  3. Dinner

    The One Table

One table, set once, for everyone. Few courses, no rush, toasts kept short.

  4. Evening

    The Orchard

A fire outside, records inside, and no set ending. Leave whenever it feels right.

Useful notes

A few things before the day.

What should I wear?

Whatever feels simple and considered — suits without ties, dresses without fuss. The room is white and the floor is old pine, so flat or block heels are wise.

Can I bring a plus-one?

Your invitation names everyone we've set a place for; the table is one piece and every seat is chosen. If something's unclear, just write to us.

Are kids welcome?

We love them, and we're keeping this one adults-only — a quiet room, a long dinner, no early bedtimes to mind.

What's the plan for weather?

The ceremony and dinner are indoors already. If the orchard is wet that evening, the fire simply moves inside.

When should I RSVP by?

By August 1, 2026, please. One table means one count, and we'd like to get every place right.
