With their families, in the desert

Olivia and James together

We met during Modernism Week, in the courtyard of a concrete house neither of us could afford — Olivia sketching the roofline, James pretending the pool didn't tempt him. We argued about butterfly roofs for an hour and shared a ride back into town.

Six years later the desert is still where we settle. James proposed in February at the foot of the tramway, at the hour the mountains go copper and hold it. So we're marrying here in September — concrete underfoot, open sky, all of you around us.

A wedding should be like good architecture: honest materials, strong light, room for everyone.

Your presence is foundational. These are the few objects, journeys, and causes we chose together.

Dress, guests, weather, and the final response date.

What do I wear in the heat?+

Cocktail attire in light fabrics — the day runs hot and the night drops fast, so bring a layer for after dark. The ceremony is on polished concrete, so any shoes work.

Can I bring a plus-one?+

Your invitation names everyone with a seat at the table. If something about your party looks off, write to us — we'd rather fix it than have you guess.

Are kids invited?+

We love your kids, and there's a pool — which is exactly why this one is adults only. Everyone gets a night off.

What's the plan for the heat?+

September here is reliably dry; the heat is what we plan around. Shade, fans, and cold water are built into the plan from the first hour.

When should I RSVP by?+

Please answer by August 1, 2026 — the table is one long pour and we need an exact count to set it.
